Man pleads guilty in 2017 manslaughter in Hartsville
A Sumter man has pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter in a killing that took place in Hartsville in 2017 as a result of what officials called a drug deal gone wrong.
Willie Hickman, 24, has pleaded guilty to manslaughter and attempted armed robbery in the September 2017 death of Jonathan Bush, according to reports.
Police said Hickman and Bush struggled over a gun during a failed drug deal and Bush was shot. Hickman has been sentenced to 20 years.
