A ribbon cutting ceremony was held July 1 to officially introduce the new “Man Cave” facility at St. Joseph Head Start Center in Hartsville.

Intended to serve young fathers ages 15 to 24 who need a safe space to gather, discuss, and learn, this new meeting place and hang-out spot features sporty, masculine décor complete with a flat screen TV and pool table. Services will include peer counseling, education guidance, job training, and parenting information.

The Man Cave is sponsored by Parents Are First, Darlington County First Steps, Head Start of Darlington County, Children’s Trust of South Carolina, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., South Carolina Center for Fathers and Families, Darlington County Community Action Partnership, and the South Carolina Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy.
