Local men arrested for Child Sex material

Two Darlington County men were arrested this week on charges related to child sexual abuse material, authorities reported.

Michael Thomas Allen, 24, faces two counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, while Wyman Troy Manuel, 55, has been charged with five counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. Each count carries a potential prison sentence of up to 10 years if convicted.

Allen’s bond was set at $40,000, and Manuel’s bond was set at $50,000.

The arrests, which are unrelated, were made by investigators from the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, under the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office. The Darlington County Sheriff’s Office provided assistance in the investigations.

Both suspects are currently being held at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center.
