Local man killed as vehicle strikes tree
A 51-year-old Darlington man was killed over the weekend when his vehicle ran off the road and hit a tree, officials said. Thomas Anthony Flowers died about 7:30 a.m. Saturday in the accident near Hoffmeyer Road, said Darlington County Coroner Todd Hardee. Hardee said the case is being investigated by the Coroner’s Office and the state Highway Patrol.
