Lady Falcons defeat May River Sharks 13-7

On Wednesday, May 19th, the Lady Falcons closed out a win over the May River Sharks advancing to the District 4 finals. The Lady Falcons started off the game strong with Katelyn Church and Alayna Williamson scoring runs bringing the score to 2-0 at the end of the 1st inning. Scoring 5 more runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning the Lady Falcons increased their lead to 7-2. The May River Sharks did not call it quits as they answered with 5 runs at the top of the 4th inning tying the game 7-7. Led by pitcher Madie Andrews the Falcons stopped the sharks from scoring the rest of the game. The Lady Falcons went on to score 2 more runs in the 5th inning and 4 more runs in the 6th. The Lady Falcons won 13-7. It was a great offensive showing for the Falcons with 6 players scoring runs. Most notably Alayna Williamson going 2-3 at bat with 2 runs and 4 RBI’s and Naya Jones going 2-4 at bat with 2 runs and an RBI. Madie Andrews pitched the entire game for Darlington striking out 5.
