Help Darlington County Humane Society Bridge win $10,000!

The Bridge is a transitional facility housing animals who are confirmed for rescue and waiting to travel. The facility also houses medical cases, pregnant moms, nursing moms with litters, and cats waiting their turn to go to the Petsmart Adoption Center. This helps free much needed space at the shelter, greatly reducing the euthanasia rate.

DCHS desperately need funds to grow the Bridge program and take advantage of all of the extra space that is currently going unused. Winning a contest by the Pet Paradise Life is Short, Make a Splash contest can help volunteers continue life saving work by paying for medical supplies, vetting fees, as well as extra staff hours needed to expand capacity.

On average over 75 pets are housed at any given time at Bridge. There is room for double that number. As summer descends, the shelter is taking in up to 50 animals per day.

Readers can help by voting every 24 hours in the Pet Paradise Life is Short, Make a Splash contest from June 1 to July 31 by going to this link: Make a Splash! and voting for Darlington County Animal Rescue.
