Hartsville’s Pendergrass signs with Gamecocks
Hartsville High School senior D.P. Pendergrass, who has shown his strength as a football player for the Red Foxes, has signed a letter of intent to play a different sport — baseball — for the University of South Carolina. He told the (Florence) Morning News: “Not everybody can have the opportunity to sign with a school like that. And I feel like I can leave a mark and make my name big there one day.” Hartsville’s Cesare Edwards has signed to play basketball at Xavier. Pendergrass also plays for Florence Post 1. “Playing at Hartsville has made me a better man,” Pendergrass told the Morning News. “I made some great friends here.”
