The Hartsville football game against Camden High was a close call until the very end. With a loss to Camden of 43-37, Hartsville has many star players tonight, who stole the show. We have our junior running back, J’Shawn Anderson, who stole the field with his touchdowns throughout the game. He played a strong game, alongside senior running back, Jonathon Flemister who made a touchdown for Hartsville during the 3rd quarter. There were also numbers 3 and 4 of Hartsville; Defensive Back, Tyre Gist and Line Backer Antonio Hicks who covered many yards tonight and knocked Camden right out bounds many times. Hartsville’s Carmello McDaniel and McKendrie Douglas, both played a great game tonight. Even though there were some failed passes and different obstacles that the team has to overcome, they played a better game tonight. In the first quarter, Davonte McCray along with J’Shawn Anderson ran many yards and scored touchdowns. During the second quarter, Carmello McDaniel alongside Cauthen Best stole the show with their number of yards ran as well. While in the third quarter, Douglas and Flemister made an impressionable team on the field during their plays with a 68 yard run and pass from Douglas. Even though Hartsville had a great game against Camden, there are still many things they need to work on to become the kind of team we know they can be. J. Calabrese went on to explain that the team didn’t play the way they should have, but also that it only gets better from here. As the season progresses, they will get better and will be able to play the game that they all love.
