Hartsville moves up into Regional championship after Darlington victory

The Hartsville Red Foxes picked up a 3-1 victory over the Darlington Falcons, Tuesday, May 11th, in a varsity baseball skirmish in Darlington. The first 3 innings started slow as the teams battled for the first run. It wasn’t until the top of the fifth inning when Hartsville’s Roddi Morris hit for a double followed by Cam Cannarella for another double. Owen Taylor then doubled, scoring Cannarella. Chapman Parker singled to score Taylor. Hartville led 3-0 over Darlington at the end of the fifth inning. Darlington placed their run at the bottom of the sixth inning after Dickerson hit, sending Simes home. By the end of the seventh, Hartsville had won 3-1 against the Falcons. Harrison Moore pitched for 3 innings, 4 hits, 1 R, 1 ER, and 5 K. Tyler Berry pitched 4 innings, 3 hits, 3 ER, 6 BB and 3 K. Hartsville’s lead hitters were Cam Cannarella 1-2, 2 B, 1 RBI; Owen Taylor 1-3, 2 B, 1 RBI; Chapman Parker 1-3, 1 RBI, Collin Reason 1-2; and Roddi Morris 1-3, 2 B. Darlington’s lead hitters were Deuce Hudson 2-3; Garrett Keen 2-4; Shemar Simes 1-3; Lex Blackmon 2-3; and Bryant Dickerson 1-3, 1 RBI. Show support for your local athletes!
