Hartsville hosting Community Eggstravaganza for Easter

On Saturday, March 27, the City of Hartsville will host a Community Easter Eggstravaganza in four city parks. This will be a self-guided, at your own pace Egg Hunt that will kick off from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in Pride Park, Lawton Park, Burry Park, and Byerly Park. This free event will feature more than 1,000 eggs stuffed with candy and toys in each park as well as prize eggs at each location. City staff will be on site from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at each park. Families are encouraged to come out early to spend the morning hunting away as the eggs are available on a first come, first served basis. Children are asked to bring their own baskets, but a limited number of collection bags for eggs will be available at the event for those in need. Food trucks and vendors will also be on site at each park from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. to purchase treats. Please note the following tips to help make this free community event enjoyable for all: • Parking is available in each park, but the parks are walkable for many Hartsville neighborhoods. • Parents or guardians should supervise their children at all times during the event. • Eggs are available on a first come, first served basis. Visit Hartsville SC will post on their Facebook page if eggs are still available after the event times. • There will be no set limit on the amounts of eggs for each participant, but attendees are encouraged to be considerate of their neighbors that would also like to find eggs. The four City Parks hosting the event are: Pride Park, 630 South Sixth Street; Lawton Park, 716 Prestwood Drive; Burry Park, 131 Cargill Way; Byerly Park, 701 West Washington Street.
