Hartsville High’s Rod Gattison will play for Western Carolina University

After starting out at Georgia Military College, former Hartsville High standout Rod Gattison will play football for Western Carolina University. Gattison played in 11 games during GMC’s 2019 season and made 14 combined tackles. The pandemic curtailed the season, but Gattison still got an offer from Western Carolina. “With COVID, it was a hard process because recruiters and coaches couldn’t come out like they wanted to,” Gattison told local media. “But I’m just glad Western Carolina came through. … It’s a young program and it’s a great environment.”
