Hartsville High athletics director resigns

Jamie Horton, Hartsville High School’s athletics director, has announced her resignation, effective at the end of the academic year.

Horton is leaving to assume the role of assistant principal at Fort Dorchester High School in Dorchester School District Two in Summerville.

Horton has taught and coached in the Darlington County School District since 2010 and served as the school’s athletic director this past year.

“Coach Horton has done an excellent job as a teacher, coach and athletic director in her time at HHS,” said Corey Lewis, principal of Hartsville High School. “She has worked hard this year to support our coaches and provide quality opportunities for our student-athletes. We wish her much success in her career.”

The search for a new athletics director will begin soon.
