Hartsville Chamber Ensemble presents concert at First Presbyterian Hartsville
The Hartsville Chamber Ensemble is pleased to present Sing for Joy, a concert of music on Thursday, May 18, at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary at First Presbyterian Church, 213 West Home Avenue, Hartsville.
The concert is in recognition and celebration of over 10 years as a vocal ensemble. Current members of the ensemble are Holly Prescott, Becky Hill, and Sharman Poplava, soprano; Victoria Norment, Candace Holcombe, and Kaye McElveen, alto; Steve Rogers and Tim Smoak, tenor; and Dave Godshalk, Kyle Henderson, and Terry Poplava, bass. The ensemble is directed by Anna White-Hill. Ronda McElveen is accompanist.
Program selections are some of the favorite works chosen from the group’s extensive repertoire. These include “Psalm 23” by Basler, “Serve the Lord” by Dilworth, “Prayer” by Clausen, and the ensemble’s signature piece, “Ubi Caritas” by Durufle’.
Additional selections include “In My Life” by Lennon, “I’ll be Seeing You,” Mattson arrangement, and “In the Wee Small Hours” by Mann.
The concert marks the Chamber Ensemble’s fifty-fourth performance in more than 16 venues and 6 cities.
The concert is free to the public.
