Genesis Community Foundation donates $20,000 to four Darlington groups

Darlington Free Medical Clinic, Community Soup Kitchen, The Lord Cares and Darlington Veteran’s Memorial were the recipients of $5,000 from the Genesis Community Foundation. Genesis Community Foundation is an independent, tax-exempt nonprofit organization organized under Section 501c3 of the Internal Revenue Code. The mission of the foundation is to improve life for disadvantaged and underserved youth and their families through education and advocacy as well as to serve, to provide and to unite communities within and across the county of Darlington as well as Olanta (in lower Florence County) and across the state as deemed appropriate by the Board of Directors. Patsy Sawyer, executive director of Genesis Community Foundation, presented the checks. Genesis Community Foundation is located in the Matthews and King Education Center located at 115B Exchange St., Darlington.
