Florence-Darlington Tech to host Open Arena Registration Aug. 17Florence-Darlington Technical College (FDTC) will host its second Open Arena Registration of the summer Aug. 17 at the Southeastern Institute of Manufacturing and Technology (SiMT) from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Students who attend Open Arena Registration will have the opportunity to register for the 2020 Fall Semester and speak with advisors and Financial Aid. The event guides each student through every step of the enrollment process. During the event, FDTC will be in compliance with all CDC safety regulations in an effort to combat the spread of COVID-19. Face masks will be required to enter the SiMT. Masks will be provided if needed. Individuals will be asked to stand at least 6 feet apart, and staff will communicate through clear shields. Hand sanitizer will be in abundance as well. The first Open Arena Registration this summer attracted hundreds of students. In addition to Open Arena Registration, FDTC is carrying out call campaigns every Wednesday prior to the start of the fall semester Aug. 24. In the fall, FDTC will offer much of its coursework through virtual learning; however, students will have the option of attending some classes on campus while following CDC guidelines. Health and technical programs will be offered in a hybrid format, with virtual video elements and Face2Face, hands-on training aspects that meet CDC guidelines for safety.
