Five suspects, including a juvenile, have been charged in the July 5 shooting death of a Hartsville man on Bethel Road in Darlington County, authorities said.
Steven Stallons, 31, was pronounced dead at the scene by Coroner Todd Hardee.
About 1 a.m., deputies found two men with gunshot wounds. One was dead; the survivor was taken to an area hospital. Hardee ruled the death a homicide.
On July 8, authorities said they are holding five suspects in the slaying, including a juvenile whose name can’t be released because of his/her age.
The juvenile and three of the adults charged in the case are accused of murder, kidnapping, attempted murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, armed robbery, criminal conspiracy, conspiracy to commit kidnapping, and discharging a firearm into a dwelling, officials said. The three adults facing these charges were identified as Nathan Edward Wallace, Shaquan Ryheen Thomas and Eereon Alphonso Hickman. They were being held at the Darlington County jail.
A fourth adult suspect, Lawrence Previtte, is accused of accessory before the fact of a felony and accessory after the fact. He was also being held at the county jail. It was not clear where the juvenile was being held.
The case remains under investigation by the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office.
