First Baptist Church Darlington welcomes new pastor
First Baptist Church, Darlington, SC is pleased to announce the arrival of their new pastor, Dr. Brian Sherwood. Pastor Sherwood will begin his pastoral leadership at First Baptist Church on Sunday, October 11, 2015.
Pastor Sherwood and his wife, Dorothy, have been married for eight years and they have two children, Aubrey (6) and Trevor (5). His formal education includes a Doctor of Ministry in Christian Leadership from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, N.C., a Master of Divinity with Biblical Languages from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, TX and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Kennesaw State University, Marietta, GA. Prior to accepting First Baptist’s call, Dr. Sherwood served as Pastor at Maye River Baptist Church, in Bluffton, S.C.
Pastor Sherwood has studied extensively on family discipleship. One of his primary areas of focus will be families and discipleship through the generations. Pastor Sherwood will bring his enthusiasm for all families, young and old, to First Baptist Church and the community, where he hopes to share the Good News of Jesus Christ to all families.
