Felon is arrested with gun and drugs


Darlington County Sheriff Tony Chavis has announced the arrest of a Hartsville man after an investigation into the selling of illegal narcotics at a residence on West Old Camden Road.
“Yesterday, my narcotics investigators executed a search warrant at 629 West Old Camden Road,” Chavis said Sept. 1. “Inside the residence, my investigators located over 350 narcotic pills, a firearm, approximately $2,500 and marijuana.”
According to Chavis, investigators arrested Cameron Jayrod Evans, 29, of Hartsville. Investigators have charged Evans with possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a violent felony, three counts of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana second offense.
