Falcons fall to Bulldogs in basketball scrimmage

Saturday, December 4th, the Darlington Falcons lost 69 – 42 against the Marlboro Bulldogs in a basketball action in Darlington. The first quarter saw the visitors take a large lead over the Falcons. Marlboro was aggressive and took advantage of every chance they had to score 18 points over Darlington’s 4. After a tough first quarter, the Falcons stepped up their game in the second quarter with the same aggression that Marlboro had earlier. Darlington and Marlboro both scored 18 points in the second, however, going into halftime Marlboro still led 30 to 16 over the Darlington Falcons. After halftime, the Falcons continued to play with the same drive as the second quarter, but the Bulldogs continued to land goals on the Falcons extending their victory 49 to 32 into the last quarter. The Falcons couldn’t gain the extra points to take the lead in the final quarter and lost 69 to 42 to the Marlboro Bulldogs. Darlington’s Dubose scored 2 , Lewis placed 9 points , Pendergrass landed 2 points, Keith shot 10, Isac scored 2 points, and Green shot 6. Come out and make sure you support our local athletes!
