Evening Under the Oaks returns for second year
Planning is well underway for the second annual Evening Under the Oaks Humane Society Benefit. The benefit is supported by a variety of area businesses.
The idea for Evening Under the Oaks was born from a group of ladies last year, who are all animal lovers. Last year’s event raised $15,000 for the Humane Society, and businesses all over the Pee Dee pitched in to help. The committee also sought donations from local food vendors, grocery stores, boutiques and clothing stores. What became of a small idea was an event attended by over 300 people, held at the Oak Manor Inn in Hartsville, complete with a silent auction.
The goal for this year’s April 29 event is $20,000, and the committee is well on its way to achieving that.
