Drew named Editor of News & Press

Longtime Darlington resident Stephan Drew has been named the Editor of the Darlington County News & Press. Mr. Drew and his family moved to Darlington in the 1970s and have lived here over 45 years.
He attended school in Darlington County and graduated in 1982 from the former St. Johns High School (now Darlington High School). He started in the newspaper business in 1983 when he took a job in graphics/production with the News & Shopper in Florence and worked there nearly a decade.
He has experience in retail business, worked as a law clerk for John P. “Jack” Gardner Sr., and also as a LPN for nearly 20 years. He is the son of Ruth Drew and the late Burney R. Drew. His father was a Tech Sgt. in the U.S. Air Force and Stephan spent his early years in Madrid and Cadiz, Spain; Lisbon, Portugal; and Istanbul and Ulus, Turkey. They also spent time in Greece and vacationed at the Black Sea while they were stationed overseas. He has 3 siblings – Michael Drew of Marion, David Drew and Debra Turbeville, both of Darlington.
