Deputies chase down man who fled traffic stop

Cash and drugs seized in recent arrest.

From Staff Reports

A Timmonsville man has been arrested on drug violations after he fled a traffic stop July 10, according to the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Tony Chavis said Quinn D. Dixon, 41, of Timmonsville, ran from his vehicle on Wilson Street in Darlington and was arrested after a brief foot pursuit.
“Inside the vehicle, deputies found heroin, meth, marijuana and around $2,000 in cash,” Chavis said. “We remain vigilant and use every available resource to find and arrest those out there pushing these drugs in our community.”
Dixon was being held at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center.
Also, the South Carolina Highway Patrol has charged Dixon with driving under the influence, driving under suspension and open container of beer or wine.
The Highway Patrol is also investigating a collision causing minor damage from Dixon leaving his vehicle in “drive,” causing it to strike a sheriff’s patrol vehicle.
There were no injuries.
