Deputies arrest robbery and assault suspects
On March 24 Darlington County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Kimberly Nesbitt Britt, age 45, of Darlington and John Austin Simmons, age 26, of Darlington. Both have been charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, a felony, which carries a penalty, upon conviction, of up to 20 years imprisonment and robbery while armed with a deadly weapon, a felony, which carries a penalty, upon conviction, of at least 10 years but no more than 20 years imprisonment.
Darlington County Sheriff’s Investigators allege that on February 3 Britt and Simmons acted together to rob and assault a victim on Gilcrest Rd. in Darlington. The victim did know Britt and Simmons. Both were located at a residence on Anderson Rd. in the Darlington area of Darlington County. They are being held at the Darlington County Detention Center awaiting arraignment.
