DCSD announces 2026-27 Support Staff of the Year Finalists

Darlington County School District (DCSD) Superintendent Dr. Matthew Ferguson surprised three employees at their schools today with the news that they have been selected as finalists for the 2026-27 District Support Staff of the Year.
The three finalists are:
Ah-Doria Blakney, secretary, Hartsville Middle School
Pamela Evans, career facilitator, Darlington Middle School
Michaela Stewart, bookkeeper, Bay Road Elementary School
“Our support staff are an important part of the work we do for children every day,” Ferguson said. “These three employees represent the dedication, care and commitment we see throughout our district. They make a difference in their schools, they support the people around them, and most importantly, they help create an environment where our students can be successful.”
The DCSD Support Staff of the Year program recognizes employees whose work makes a meaningful difference for students, schools, and the district. Support staff serve in a wide range of roles across DCSD, helping create the welcoming, safe and supportive environments students and staff depend on each day.
