Dawson Jordan takes helm at News and Press

Dawson Jordan, new General Manager of The Darlington County News and Press.

Dawson Jordan has assumed the role of general manager at the Darlington County News & Press. Jordan takes over the role from Johnnie Daniels, the general manager of The Dillon Herald, who after handling the initial transition of the business, has returned to focus on The Dillon Herald full-time. Jordan is a 2012 graduate of T.L. Hanna High School and 2016 graduate of the University of South Carolina Upstate, where he received a bachelor’s degree in graphic design. A year after graduation, he moved to Dillon and was employed at Herald Printing and Graphics in sales. He is a part of the fifth generation of Jordans leading and working in a family-owned business. Jordan, who has been with the News and Press for the past ten months, looks forward to becoming more involved in the Darlington County community. “I look forward to serving the people of Darlington County and will strive to provide them a quality and relevant hometown newspaper. We want to be your first and best source for Darlington County news whether in print, online, and on social media,” Jordan said. Jordan plans to work in both advertising, design, and news in addition to his management responsibilities. Jordan and his wife, Gisella, reside in Effingham. They are members of the Church at Sandhurst in Florence. Jordan is an avid fly fisherman and duck hunter and loves to re-create his experiences through artwork. He also enjoys traveling and spending his time in the mountains with his wife and family.
