Darlington man drowns in pond
A 70-year-old Darlington man drowned last week while cleaning the spillway in his pond, officials say.
Chafee Jones of Darlington was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 10 p.m. last Tuesday by Darlington County Coroner Todd Hardee. He said the incident took place on Harmony Hall Road.
The death has been ruled an accident, Hardee said.
