Darlington County man arrested on drug charges

A Darlington County man has been arrested on methamphetamine and cocaine charges for the second time in 6 months, Darlington County Sheriff’s deputies report.
The deputies arrested Robert Layne Hilburn, charging him with trafficking meth on Wednesday morning, March 1, 2023. According to Sheriff’s Office reports, just under one ounce of meth and a “quantity” of cocaine were seized after a search warrant was executed. This is the second time a search has been done at the same location off Timmonsville Highway in less than six months and the second time since November that Hilburn has been arrested on a meth trafficking charge.
Hilburn was booked into the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center. As the investigation continues, more charges may follow.
