Darlington beats Latta 68-26

3A Darlington handed 1A Latta a 68-26 loss in varsity girls basketball in Darlington on Friday, December 9.
Darlington led 13-9 after the first period of play. By halftime, Darlington was up 34-19. After 3 periods of play, the Lady Falcons were up 49-24.
With this win Darlington is 3-2 for the season.
Darlington’s team had 8 players to score in the contest with Jamera Madison leading all scorers in the game with 20 points. She had six 2-point baskets, a 3-point basket, and 3 free throws. Camile Patterson had seven 2-point baskets for 14 points. Tamira Benton added 8 points with four 2-point baskets. Aryanna McPhail and Kalihah Grant each had three 2-point baskets and a free throw for 7 points. J. McMurray added three 2-point baskets for 6 points. Autumn Joseph had 3 free throws for 3 points. Aniya Bulloch had 2 free throws.
Latta Lady Vikings’ Kaliya Herman had 13 points with four 3-point baskets and a free throw. Kardae McFadden had a 3-point basket, a 2-point basket, and a free throw for 7 points. Shawniza Bethea had two 2-point baskets and a free throw for 5 points. Kayla Hennagan had a 2-point basket.
Latta’s head coach is Sandra Gomillion, and Darlington’s head coach is Shaniqua Bennett.
Latta will travel to Mullins on Wednesday, December 14, for a 6:00 p.m. game.
Darlington will host Cheraw on Wednesday, December 21, at 6:00 p.m.
