Covered in Cotton gift boxes to serve as fundraiser for health-care workers

Maker of upscale baby blankets, throws and hand towels, Darlington-based Covered in Cotton is launching a new gift set to bring comfort to those we can’t be with due to COVID-19.
The company has partnered with other local small businesses to create the Home Grown at Home Boxed Collection. The premiere box is called the Snack & Snuggle Box.
The Snack & Snuggle Boxes feature one 50 x 70 Covered in Cotton throw in the design of your choice, one 5-ounce bag of Lowcountry Kettle Corn, and one 10-ounce can of Gillespie’s Salted Peanuts.
For every 10 boxes sold, Covered in Cotton will be sending a box to healthcare workers across the United States who are on the frontlines battling COVID-19. The boxes will retail for $100, include free shipping in the U.S., and can be purchased via their website.
Covered in Cotton produces all of its products with cotton grown from the owners’ family farm in Darlington.
The products are produced with the help of small textile businesses in the Carolinas.
“Our hope is that we can unite to support local small businesses and farms while providing comfort for our neighbors who are working hard to keep us all safe,” said Covered in Cotton founder Tracy Woodard. “In a time when you’re not always able to wrap your arms around a loved one, we’ve cherished the opportunity to celebrate birthdays and new babies, as well as bring comfort during the loss of a loved one.”
