Clear Bags required for all DCSD athletic events

The Darlington County School District (DCSD) is reminding fans of the district’s clear bag procedures for all athletic events in the district. The clear bag program is designed to help provide a safe and secure environment for fans and athletes.

Fans with prohibited bags will not be permitted to enter the gymnasium or stadium. The practice allows school staff to be more efficient and effective in moving guests through security checkpoints and checking approved bags that are brought into the venue.  Fans should also expect to pass through weapons detectors to enter the building or stadium.

Any bag brought into the gymnasium or stadium must be completely clear and no larger than 12” x 6” x 12”. One-gallon clear plastic freezer bags work well. In addition to the clear bags, small clutch bags less than 4.5” x 6.5” (approximately the size of a hand), medically necessary items (these will be inspected at the entrance), and diaper bags (with the infant/toddler present and after proper inspection at the gate) will also be permitted. Prohibited items include but are not limited to purses larger than a clutch, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, drawstring bags, computer bags, or camera bags.
