Call for History of St. James UMC
Many people raised in St. James United Methodist Church now live beyond Darlington’s borders. Some may be descendants of original members, Trustees or Ministers. An association with the congregation could lie in your family papers or history. Join others who are trying to document the history of the Church from its infancy as the “Pearl Street Methodist Episcopal Church” in 1866 through its growth through wars, civil rights actions and then to today’s work as part of the United Methodist Church. Follow the work of St. James descendants and friends by contacting:stjameshistory1866@gmail.com. We’ll keep you notified of our findings and the news and events that celebrate our shared heritage as families and a congregation.
