Church holds NFL Sunday event

Cherry Grove Missionary Baptist Church Fulfillment Hour is on the MOVE for 2017. On Sunday January 29, the Fulfillment Hour Ministry kicked off its 1st NFL Sunday by sponsoring a continental breakfast at 8:30 a.m. All members and guests were sporting the gear of their favorite NFL team (mostly Dallas Cowboys). It was the beginning of another great Sunday at Cherry Grove.

Without much planning, every aspect of the church was connected. The Fulfillment Hour theme was “Global Applause” (relating to or applying to a whole). The entire church was praising God for many things, which is not unusual on any given Sunday. Our morning worship began at 10 a.m. and it was wonderful to see our pastor, Reverend Burroughs, and the congregation adorned in their NFL attire.

The message that Sunday was given by Minister Tyrone Edge. His theme was “Faith Foundation.” God was working in our favor because his sermon was related to the message we were attempting to convey to the church and particularly to the young people. Our Fulfillment Hour Ministry understands that there are many avenues available to get our youth involved in the activities at the church.

Cherry Grove takes pride in the upbringing of our youth, by being supportive and listening to their concerns. They are our future leaders of tomorrow. The Fulfillment Hour Ministry falls under the leadership of pastor E.B. Burroughs, Dr. Min. and Sister Latasha Goodson, superintendent and Deacon Frederick Samuel and Coebe Everett and Chance Jerry, assistant secretaries. Fulfillment Hour (Sunday School) starts at 9 a.m. and worship service at 10 a.m. each Sunday. Our doors are open to all. The church is located at 552 E. Billy Farrow Road in Darlington.
