Investigators arrest Detention Center officer
An officer at the Darlington County jail has been arrested for allegedly providing contraband to an inmate. Halie Bryce Goodwin, 23, of Florence, was arrested Friday, according to the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators have charged Goodwin with misconduct in office. According to investigators, between February and April, Goodwin brought contraband into the Detention Center for an inmate.
2 charged in car break-ins
Two men have been charged in connection with car break-ins in the Palmetto Apartments area of Darlington, police said. On April 14, Lanard Lyrell Gattison, 34, and Christopher Markeith Hart, 29, were arrested by the Darlington Police Department.
