Sweet Queens crowned in Darlington
The S.C. Sweet Potato Festival sponsored by the Darlington Pilot Club is weeks away, and the long running family favorite event has two new ambassadors: Miss S.C. Sweet Potato Festival Chelsea Bullock and Miss S.C. Sweet Potato Festival Teen Kinsley Odom were officially crowned at the Miss S.C. Sweet Potato Festival & Miss S.C. Sweet Potato Festival Teen Pageant on Sunday, September 20.
Three Darlington paperboys recreate their route
Two preachers and a pilot came home to Darlington for a mini-class reunion with several of their classmates from the St. John’s High School Class of 1952, and decided it would be fun to ride bicycles through town to recreate their own paper route.

Church of the Week: First Presbyterian Church, Hartsville
After the 1871 wood frame building was moved to the back corner of the lot for continued use, construction of the Gothic Revival building began. The solid 8″ thick brick walls went up quickly, but available money slowed the construction process.
