Forum for Darlington candidates draws large crowd
The News & Press hosted our first ever candidate forum on Thursday October 22nd, and approximately 285 Darlington residents filled the seats and bleachers at the Darlington Area Recreation Department Harmon Baldwin gymnasium to hear all 16 residents vying for city municipal offices.

Darlington Council and Mayoral Forum Oct. 22
The candidates running for office for the upcoming election in Darlington will participate in an upcoming event hosted by the News and Press on Thursday, October 22nd at 6:30 p.m. at the Darlington Recreation Department gymnasium (Harmon Baldwin Center) on 300 Sanders Street.
Volunteers come out for Cleanup Day
The Southeast Darlington Revitalization Committee held a Cleanup Day Oct. 9 in the Jordan Street area, and volunteers enjoyed a hot dog lunch before taking up their gloves and trash bags and combing the neighborhood for litter.
The Darlington Fire Department joined in the effort, checking neighborhood homes for fire safety and installing free 10-year smoke alarms where needed.
