Carson-Newman defeats Coker in men’s soccer

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. — Coker University men’s soccer fell at Carson-Newman on Saturday by a score of 3-1. The Cobras struck first in the 23rd minute, with Jacques Fokam-Sandeu scoring his 12th goal of the year off an assist from Gabin Guillou. Carson Newman would tie things up with seven minutes to play in the first half to send the game to the half tied 1-1. Carson-Newman took the lead in the 52nd minute, then extended their lead in the 78th minute to bring the game to its final score. Fokam-Sandeu and Guillou each had four shots in the game, while Markos Touroukis had two and four others each registered one shot. Jasper Rump made five saves between the pipes for Coker. The Cobras (10-4-1, 5-4 SAC) return to action this Saturday (Oct. 30) to host Queens (N.C.) for Senior Day.
