Bottle & Tap now open in Hartsville

Bottle & Tap, Hartsville’s newest craft beer destination, is now open for business at 621 S. 5th Street adjacent to the Shell station. With 6 specialty craft beers on tap and over 20 varieties of 12 packs, 6 packs, and single bottles and cans, variety is one of the highlights of the classy new pub. “We want to provide customers with not only their go to favorites, but also beers that could be hard to find,” says Sheena Kelley, head bartender. “Beers that some people get excited about when they are released. We also would love for customers to want to go outside their comfort zone with certain beers and try new things.” Sheena has worked in hospitality for over 15 years, and has always carried a passion for craft beers. Her expertise makes her an asset behind the bar, and a resource to those in front of it, able to answer questions about different styles, brews, and flavors. The knowledgeable service she provides is a perfect fit for both craft beer enthusiasts and neophytes.

Bottle & Tap, open Tuesday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., is not a typical bar. The upscale decor, bright lighting, and ample space for seating provides an open, friendly atmosphere. Bags of local caramel corn decorate the shelves and bar. Patrons at the bar can quaff fresh, crisp pints or sample ‘beer flights’ – a series of four small glasses that each contain a different draft from the tap. A unique way to enjoy the drafts is to fill a ‘growler’ – a large jug for customers to take home. Bottle & Tap will even trade their new, branded growler jugs for old jugs that customers bring in at no charge. The drafts on tap are changed frequently, so filling a growler is a great way for customers to take some of their favorite brew home with them before it is out of rotation.

Bottle & Tap has big plans for the present, and the future. Having joined the Hartsville Chamber of Commerce, the new business continues the commitment of parent company West Oil, a longtime chamber member. Upcoming events will include special tastings, and larger events made possible through distributor partnership.
