Alpine Dr. homicide update
Sheriff Tony Chavis has announced the arrest of three men in connection to the shooting death of a Florence man.
According to Sheriff Chavis, Patrol deputies were dispatched to the 900 block of Alpine Dr. in the Florence area on February 7 around 7 p.m. Deputies located a gunshot victim inside a residence.
“Investigators began immediately gathering evidence and witness statements to determine who committed this horrible act,” Sheriff Tony Chavis said. “Through the hard work of my investigators, we have three individuals in custody who we believe did this crime.”
Sheriff’s Investigators have charged Tre’Varis James Alford, 18, of Darlington, Antwan Khyre Javera Holmes,
17, of Darlington, and Ty’Quavious Deondre’ Mack, 19, of Timmonsville with murder and armed robbery.
Darlington County Coroner J. Todd Hardee identified the victim as 39 year old Michael Brandon Smith of Florence and ruled the victim’s death a homicide.
Alford, Holmes and Mack appeared before a Darlington County Magistrate Wednesday Feb. 21. All were denied bond.
