Agapé Hospice to provide dementia awareness training
Agapé Hospice will be providing dementia awareness training for members of the Hartsville Chamber Hospitality Group on September 28 at 9:00 a.m. The event will be held in the Greater Hartsville Chamber of Commerce Board Room located at 214 North Fifth Street in Hartsville.

According to Caroline Adams, Senior Solution Advisor for Agapé Hospice, the training will cover the following topics on how businesses can create “dementia friendly” safe zones.
• How to provide safe and comforting environments for a person with dementia.
• How to avoid frustration and embarrassment for a dementia sufferer and their caregiver.
• How including safe environments can decrease the feeling of isolation for dementia caregivers.
• How businesses can keep dementia sufferers and their caregivers involved within the community.
