2017 Elk’s Club Parade and Key Presentation

Mayor Gloria C. Hines presented a Key to the City of Darlington to George Scott, the 1st Vice President, S.C. State Association from #339 Emanuel of Charleston, S.C. Improved Benevolent & Protective Order Of Elks Of The World (IBPOE of W). The key presentation was at the conclusion of the Elks’ Parade on Saturday, October 1 in Darlington.

Parade organizers included Mr. Roosevelt Scott and his son, Cheveron Scott, both of Darlington and pictured in the group photo above.

Roosevelt Scott is a Grand Trustee for the Improved Benevolent Protective Order of Elks of the World (IBPOE of W). His son, Cheveron T. Scott, was elected to the fourth highest office in the organization as the Grand Esteemed Lecturing Knight.

The Darlington High School Marching Band participated in the parade, as well as Elk’s Lodge members from across the United States and international members including the Bahamas.

The local Chapter of IBPOE of W is the Pee Dee United #1679 Elks Lodge.

The Improved Protective Order of Elks of the World is a fraternal organization dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of children, youth, seniors, veterans, and others less fortunate in our communities, primarily through benevolent contributions, volunteer services, and broad-base collaborative community initiatives; and to assist those less fortunate in achieving their highest potential, complete their education, and become positive society contributors by providing committed volunteers, national leadership, and standards of excellence.
