Hartsville police say that a woman escaped handcuffs and a patrol car while being arrested June 17. Kelli Leigh Weaver, 40, of Hartsville, was being arrested for head-butting a woman on Creighton Street during an argument over clothes, according to reports. She had already been handcuffed and was being placed in a patrol car when she escaped the car and headed into some woods, according to reports. Sometime later, she was seen walking back and she had freed one arm from the cuffs. She was arrested a second time and charged with third-degree assault and battery, escape and resisting arrest.
