Woman accused of stealing mail

A Hartsville woman faces charges of petty larceny after Darlington County sheriff’s deputies say they found stolen mail in her car. Barbara Renee Talbert, 45, of 1505 County Line Road, Hartsville, was arrested after someone called to report a woman rifling through his mailbox and others’. Deputies questioned the woman, according to reports, and she offered to let them search her vehicle. A search found “multiple” pieces of mail not hers under a seat, according to reports. Jail records say Talbert was charged with 10 separate offenses – four counts of petit larceny, five counts of receiving stolen goods and one count of driving under suspension.
