Water main break spurs ‘boil water advisory’ for parts of county
A water main break prompted the Darlington County Water and Sewer Authority to issue a “boil water advisory” Jan. 5 for southeastern sections of Darlington County and the surrounding areas.
People living along E. Lanford Road, East Black Creek Road, Split Rail Drive, Atlee Court, Stag Horn Lane and Highland Bluff Court, and surrounding areas in Florence County, were told to vigorously boil their water for at least one minute before drinking or cooking.
Officials said ice made from water that had not been boiled should not be used for drinking purposes.
