Truck fire in Hartsville

HARTSVILLE TRUCK FIRE — The driver of this truck had a flat tire at Hartsville’s Roundabout traffic circle Aug. 31, according to the Hartsville Police Department. He spun the wheels long enough that the flat tire caught fire, then walked away from the scene, police said. It turned out that he was driving under suspension, police said. As Hartsville police noted on their Facebook page, “When you’re driving under suspension, and your tire goes flat, don’t spin the wheels long enough that the flat tire catches fire. When the police show up with the Fire Department and you walk off … expect everyone watching you walk away from a car fire to take your picture and share it with the police.” PHOTO COURTESY HARTSVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT
