Tractor-trailer collides with SCC train
East McIver Road in Darlington County was closed for miles after a tractor-trailer hauling logs collided with a South Carolina Central train March 22. The impact derailed the train and left logs strewn over the scene. “The logs were all over the place,” said Thomas Spivey, chief of the Palmetto Rural Fire Department, which responded to the accident.
