Three held in shooting near Mayo High School

Three youths have been charged in an Oct. 14 shooting that led to a lockdown at Mayo High School in Darlington, officials said. Darlington Police Chief Kelvin Washington identified the suspects as Aquavion Lucas, 19, of Darlington, who is charged with two counts of attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and possession of a pistol; Demitrius Goins, who is charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime; and Eric Bacote, 19, of Darlington, who is charged with accessory before the fact of attempted murder and accessory after the fact of attempted murder. The charges stem from a non-fatal shooting at the Pine Village Housing Complex Office, 324 Bacote St., the chief said. (No photo of Goins was available.)
