Society Hill Town Council members sworn in
On Jan. 11, Circuit Judge Paul Burch swore in the new members of Society Hill Town Council. In top photo, council member Denise Douglas is sworn in. Douglas served previously on council. In bottom photo, Burch swears in Melissa Burch as councilman Chuck Baker holds the Bible. Including Mayor Dwayne Duke, three of five council members are new. Duke said he hopes the council can give Society Hill a “face-lift.” In coming months and years, council will have federal American Rescue Plan funds to work with.
