Society Hill Community Garden progressing well

The Community Garden in Society Hill is growing fast and the people of Society Hill couldn’t be happier! They have done alot of work and it is beginning to pay off. Sponsored by CareSouth Carolina, the large plot of land is located near the old St. David’s Academy. There are planter boxes with tomatoes, squash, zucchini, peppers, corn and much more! Local officials, citizens and business owners spend their free time planting, weeding and watering all of these plants to provide nourishment for the community. There is also an 8-foot deer fence encompassing the large area, to keep the animals from eating the plants and damaging the garden.
