Second suspect arrested in connection with shootings

On January 30, 2025, Deputies responded to a call in reference to a male who had been shot off of Black Creek Road in the Centerville area of Darlington County. Deputies arrived on scene at Black Creek Road and received a second call in reference to a female who had also been shot.

Upon further investigation, Deputies discovered the incidents were related and occurred inside a vehicle. This was an isolated incident. Both gunshot victims were transported to a local hospital to treat the sustained injuries.

On January 31, 2025, as a result of this investigation, Devarious Wilson was arrested and charged with Obstructing Justice for providing false information during an attempted murder investigation.

As a result of this investigation, on February 24, 2025, Trevante Johnson was also arrested in connection with this incident. Johnson was charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Person Convicted of a Violent Felony and Breach of Peace High and Aggravated. Johnson illegally possessed a firearm and used it to shoot without due regard or in an unlawful manner, inside a vehicle on a public roadway, striking the victim several times. Trevante Johnson is currently being held at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center awaiting his bond hearing.

This is an active investigation and more charges may follow.
