Cash, drugs and weapons were seized during the execution of a search warrant .
The Darlington County Combined Drug Unit executed a search warrant on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at a property off East Lydia Highway in the Hartsville area, uncovering significant evidence of illegal drug activity and firearms violations.
During the search, authorities seized over $15,000 in cash, approximately 2.19 grams of cocaine, 1.2 ounces of crack cocaine, and 2 ounces of marijuana. Additionally, a shotgun and a rifle were confiscated from the premises.
As a result of the investigation, Barney Brown was taken into custody. Brown faces multiple charges, including Trafficking Cocaine (3rd offense), Trafficking Crack Cocaine (3rd offense), Two counts of Distribution (3rd offense), Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime, Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
Authorities have confirmed that this is an ongoing investigation, and additional charges or arrests may follow as they continue to process evidence.
